Happy New Year!!!

Wow, yesterday was such a rush! First off, thanks SO much to everyone who blogged about my book, gave my book away in a contest, sent mass emails to everyone they know telling them to buy my book (Tonia!!!), bought multiple copies, emailed me with pictures and updates about book sightings and phoned or emailed me congratulations and best wishes. I can’t tell you how much your enthusiasm for STOLEN FURY’s release made my day!!!

My super sweet girlfriend Tonia emailed me a bunch of pictures. Almost everyone who saw the book said it was facing out on the stacks and one of the Portland Borders even had it sitting out on their new release table.

Today we’re kicking back, watching the Beavers in their bowl game, and celebrating the end of 2008. I’ve been forbidden to check Amazon (Bethany!!!) and am going to just enjoy the day and bask in my release. Because of the holiday, I’m not blogging around the blogosphere today, but I’ll be back Friday with another list of appearances. However, Once Upon A Romance interviewed me and it went up today, so check it out if you get the chance. Also, if you happen to be in Oregon, buy a copy of the Statesman Journal. They did a spread on me and the book and the story was supposed to run today.

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you find peace, joy, health and happiness in 2009. And if you haven’t yet bought a copy of STOLEN FURY. Go do it!!!!!

STOLEN FURY Available TODAY!!!

I can’t believe it. Release day is finally here. I’m elated, nervous, excited, stressed…my emotions run the gamut. At this point there’s nothing to do but sit back and enjoy though, so that’s my plan for the day.

However, in honor of release day, I’ll be blogging all over. You can find me at Magical Musings,
Oh, is he handsome. And charming. And sexy as all get out. Dr. Lisa Maxwell isn’t the type to go home with a guy she barely knows. But, hey, this is Italy and the red-blooded Rafe Sullivan seems much more enticing than cataloging a bunch of dusty artifacts.

After being fully seduced, Lisa wakes to an empty bed and, worse yet, an empty safe. She’s staked her career as an archaeologist on collecting the three Furies, a priceless set of ancient Greek reliefs. Now the one she had is gone. But Lisa won’t just get mad. She’ll get even.

She tracks Rafe to Florida, and finds the sparks between them blaze hotter than the Miami sun. He may still have her relic, but he’ll never find all three without her. And they’re not the only ones on the hunt. To beat the other treasure seekers, they’ll have to partner up—because suddenly Lisa and Rafe are in a race just to stay alive.

Read what reviewers are saying…

Publisher’s Weekly (November 3, 2008)
“A rock-solid debut…Naughton’s intelligent adventure plot is intensified by the blazing heat that builds from Lisa and Rafe’s first erotic encounter.”

Romantic Times
“When a tough-as-nails and slightly repressed archaeologist meets a charming bad-boy thief, they test each other’s limits, narrowly escape danger and fall in love. Naughton creates an action-packed and satisfying storyline. She also delivers one very charming and sexy hero — with a heart of gold.”

Romance Junkies
“Naughton has clearly done her research on both mythology and archaeology and the details all ring true. Descriptions of the Furies will make you want to look up pictures, and you can almost feel the dampness surround you during the scenes in underwater caves. Naughton has included a strong lineup of secondary characters, some of whom we may well meet again in the second and third books in the series. STOLEN FURY is a must-read for all fans of romantic suspense.”

Night Owl Romance
“STOLEN FURY is a great debut novel in a trilogy. It’s fast-paced and intensely suspenseful. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happened next. The chemistry between Lisa and Rafe was scorching hot and I enjoyed their getting to know each other. They disliked yet were attracted to each other and it was fun to see them fight it. I thoroughly enjoyed STOLEN FURY and look forward to reading the next in the trilogy.”

The Romance Readers Connection
“Get ready! When you read STOLEN FURY you will have to hold on for your life. The romance between Lisa and Rafe is hot, hot, hot! And the story line will keep your head spinning and your heart racing! From page one, Elisabeth Naughton keeps the sex spicy and the scenery changing. Who knew cave digging with a thief and an archaeologist could be so sexy? If you love romantic suspense novels, you will want to snatch this one up. Keep Ms. Naughton’s name on your short list too, I hope we see more from her!”

Coffee Time Romance
“Elisabeth Naughton can spin a tale to captivate the reader and take them for a ride. The locations in this book are some of the most exotic but are still just a backdrop to the main characters. The hero and heroine are both flawed but still loveable and therefore believable. The author really took the time to look into the Puerto Rican and Greek cultures to make the story authentic. Rafe has a sexy Spanish accent with which he says the sweetest things every woman would love to hear. Ms. Naughton skillfully kept the identity of the villain a secret to the very last chapter and I was shocked upon the revelation.”

Harriet Klausner
“This is an exciting romantic suspense thriller that starts off hot with the sexual encounter and from there turns up the heart and the action. Rafe is sort of a modern day Hans Solo-Indiana Jones rogue while Lisa is more of the by the book professional. To find the statues and survive, they each need to adapt some of the other’s core values; love complicates the already difficult task. Elisabeth Naughton provides readers with a stirring archaeological thriller.”

I’m Here! I’m Here!

OMG…this has just been the week from hell. One thing after another sucking up my time. I’ll only touch on the highlights so I don’t bore you to death…

Highlight #1: We got our Christmas Tree. Did I mention our tradition is to drive up to the hills, cut a tree ourselves at a tree farm and pack it home? And did I happen to mention that my hubby had back surgery like 3 wks ago? Um, yeah. It POURED Sunday when we drove out to the get the tree. We were all soaked, Gremlin #3 slipped four times in the mud and the tree weighed a freakin’ TON. Luckily, some nice guys at the tree farm loaded the tree for us and the neighbors helped us set it up. We had to let it dry, so we didn’t decorate it until Tuesday. (Much Gremlin grumbling over the two-day delay here…and they were less than thrilled with mommy’s excuse that SHE HAS A BOOK COMING OUT AND THINGS TO DO!) So Tuesday afternoon I’m running around like a loon trying to get last minute details together for my last RWA meeting as president and the DH is supervising the tree decorating. Wait…let me say that again. The DH, who is still on major pain killers, can’t lift things, or hang things, or really crouch down, is supervising the tree decorating. I’m sure you get the picture. The bottom half of the tree got decorated, we had (I think) six ornament casualties (thanks to Gremlin #3′s slippery hands) and somehow still have an entire box of ornaments they never got to.

Highlight #2: Gremlin #2 (he’s 6) got in trouble at school. Now, I only mention this in the week’s highlights because it’s rather comical (and if you know me at all, you’ll quickly figure out why). His teacher was in front of the class, talking about Christmas or something, and said the word, “holy”. Now, my lovely Gremlin, being the class clown that he is (and my son), piped up and filled in the second word before she could finish her statement. Yes, you guessed it. She said “holy”, he said, “shit”. In the middle of class. He came home in tears, not because the teacher punished him but because he felt bad about it (kids must have been teasing him). And he’s telling the DH and I what happened and it’s all I can do not to laugh my ass off. If you’ve read my book or plan to read my book, you’ll know why this is so funny. (I SWEAR he doesn’t get this from me. Uh huh…I’m sticking to that story, at least when I talk to his teacher…)

Highlight #3: I lead my last RWA chapter meeting as Mid-Willamette Valley RWA Prez. It was kind of a bittersweet moment. While being president of my local chapter has been a HUGE time commitment, I have enjoyed it. I’ve made some great contacts this year and as someone who likes to be involved, I found it to be very rewarding. Not that I have any intention of a second term. I’m more than happy to pass the reigns to my good friend Lisa Catto.

Highlight #4: Okay, not a highlight but an excuse as to why I wasn’t around to blog much this week. My computer’s in the shop (again, don’t get me started). I’m hoping to get it back tomorrow. (Please God…)

And the BEST highlight…

Highlight #5: MY EDITOR SENT ME THE FIRST COPY OF MY BOOK!!!!! I was really hoping I could post a picture, but DH’s laptop will not let me download my camera card for some dumb reason. So I’ll post it as soon as I get my laptop back (please, tomorrow…). STOLEN FURY is beautiful. I keep looking at it, opening it, reading a page here and there, closing it and putting it away. I don’t want to bend the spine (I’m a major dork, I know), so I read it barely cracked. I’m showing it to everyone. And when my mother tonight saw it and said, “I want to take it to work tomorrow and show everyone,” my eyes got big as saucers. I’m not entirely sure what words I used, but they might have been similar to what got Gremlin #3 in trouble at school. Needless to say, she’s agreed to wait a few weeks to show everyone at her work.

Okay, so, before I forget…BE SURE TO CHECK BACK HERE MONDAY, DECEMBER 15TH, 2008. My contest is going to go live that day and you do NOT want to miss it. It’s going to be FUN.

Catching Up

As most of you know, I’m not a big TV-watcher. I just don’t have time. I write primarily in the evenings after the Gremlins go to bed, during prime TV-watching hours. After finishing a project though, I always take some time off to catch up on shows I enjoy (like House). Now is no exception. Especially with the DH off work due to his back surgery recovery. We’ve watched a lot of House, the series end of The Shield, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (have you seen this? If not, you’re truly missing out. Hi-larious) and I’ve become addicted to The National Geographic Channel (they have REALLY cool stuff on there!). But when I caught DH watching Martha Stewart the other day (he’s really getting bored being home during the day) I decided it was time to trade in the TV lineup and catch up on all those DVDs I’ve skipped over. Here’s what we’ve watched lately:

We Own The Night (2007) – Joaquin & Mark. No better combo out there. Don’t know why I didn’t see this one sooner either. Really enjoyed it.

There are more…lots on cable and a few in the theatre, most of which I can’t remember…but those are the highlights. It’s fun to veg out in front of the TV watching movies now and then, though I think I’m reaching my limit.

So did you see any of these movies? What did you think? And have you seen anything good lately you’d recommend? The DH still has another three weeks or so before he goes back to work, and the way things are going, if I don’t find some other interesting movies for him to watch, I may have to put a parental lock on the daytime TV selections…

Another Release!

…from the Bradford Group! This one from Beth Kery.

WICKED BURN – Available Now from Berkley Sensation.

He wanted all of her…

Vic Savian knows what he wants when he sees it. And what he wants is his sexy neighbor, Niall Chandler. So when he sees her in the hallway of their building being harassed by an aggressive suitor, Vic makes his move—and finds himself greatly rewarded…

And did she ever let him have it…

Sleeping with her gorgeous neighbor—when she didn’t even know his last name—was the craziest thing Niall’s ever done. Now, she can’t seem to get enough of Vic—or the uninhibited passion he stirs in her. Suddenly, with his help, she’s opening to sensual pleasures she’s never known before. But when Niall’s past comes back to haunt her, will she and Vic let themselves venture beyond the bedroom and explore the possibility of love that’s in their hearts?
Reviews:

— 5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies: Kery brings her characters to life with her descriptive prose and realistic dialogue. I held my breath as they came together in some of the sexiest love scenes I have read this year.

— 4 stars from Romantic Times: Kery gives readers beautifully written prose with amazingly descriptive sex scenes. But be warned — this is a very sensual tale. The well-crafted characters are full of raw emotions that are right on the page for the reader to experience.

— 5 Book Marks from Wild on Books: After reading WICKED BURN by Beth Kery, I have a new favorite author! With passionate love scenes, poignant romance, and a touching story, WICKED BURN is the kind of book that I will read again and again – it will certainly have a permanent place in my personal library.

– 4.5 Stars from Romance Novel TV: WICKED BURN by Beth Kery is a contemporary erotic romance that has a terrific plot that will tug at your heart strings. The two main characters are well drawn, three dimensional and layered with subtext. It seamlessly blends romance, steamy erotic interludes and character development with a good story line. Bravo Ms. Kery for creating a world I wanted to spend time in.

— 5 Stars from Genre Go Round/Barnes and Noble (reviewer: Harriet Klausner) This is a poignant contemporary romance starring two scarred lovers who have demons from past relationships. Beth Kery provides a deep angst-laden tale filled with real characters wanting much more out of life, though lessons learned have led to settling for much less.

Go out and buy this one too! Think of all the great holiday reads you’ll have waiting for you!

Release Day!

Not for me, but for fellow Bradford pal, Lauren Dane!

While Lauren is already a multipublished author, her first NY release – UNDERCOVER, from Berkley – hits store shelves today. So it’s a BIG release day.

I had the pleasure of reading UNDERCOVER and I can say with certainty this is a one HOT read you won’t soon forget.

A sexy debut exploring an erotic future universe of passion, danger, and deceit…

On the battleground or in the bedroom, one woman and two men fight for dominance in a bold, new, and excitingly different direction in erotica…

As a lieutenant of the Federation military, Sera Ayers is accustomed to giving orders, not taking them. Now she must obey the one man she can’t stand—and can’t stop thinking about.

With the enemy Imperialists gaining ground, a covert team is assembled by Ash Walker. Ten years before, Sera had lovingly submitted to Ash’s dominance in the bedroom. But when he was forced into a political marriage, she refused to play mistress. His marriage now over, Ash wants Sera on his team—and back in his bed.

The third team member, Brandt Pela, has an elegance to match Ash’s savage sexuality. And when their undercover plan requires Sera to pose as Brandt’s lover, it ignites a passion among the three of them more dangerous than their mission.

Go out and buy it today!! UNDERCOVER would make a great Christmas gift for your significant other.
