The Next Big Thing

My friend Kris Kennedy, author of several historical romances including her current release DECEPTION, which was recently nominated for a 2012 RT Book Reviews K.I.S.S. Hero award, tagged me to take part in this blog hop-along.

I’ll answer some questions about my current work in progress (WIP), then tag a couple other romance authors to do the same on their blogs next week.

So, here goes my Next Big Thing:

What is the working title of your book?

I’m currently working on the 6th Eternal Guardians book, BOUND, set to release in March 2013.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

Since I write series, most of my book ideas come out of events that happen in previous books. Titus, the hero in BOUND, is a descendent of Odysseus, the great thinker. So I like to tie in bits and pieces of the old myths.

What genre does your book fall under?

The Eternal Guardians series is paranormal/fantasy romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I hate this question! No actor ever lives up to what I see in my head for my characters, so I leave that up to readers to choose.

What is a one-sentence synopsis of your book?

BOUND: Things are never what they seem.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It usually takes me 3-4 weeks to write a novella and 3-4 months to write a full book.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Readers who love paranormal and/or fantasy romance will love these books.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

My fans! Readers have been waiting for Titus’s book for a while now. Can’t wait to give them his story.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

ENSLAVED, the 5th book in the Eternal Guardians series, which released on Nov 6, 2012, hit the USA Today Bestsellers List! While readers met Titus back in book one, the heroine in BOUND showed up in ENSLAVED. So if you’re wondering who the mysterious redhead is…you’ll find out soon!

And now . . . I get to tag a couple author friends who will post next Wed, December 19th, about their work in progress!

Joan Swan, author BLAZE and the wildly popular Phoenix Rising series,

and

Darcy Burke, author of TO LOVE A THIEF, which you can download for free from iTunes right now!

Be sure to stop by Joan and Darcy’s blogs next Wednesday to find out what they’re working on!

And if you want to hear what Kris Kennedy is working on (teaser: its working title is CLAIMING HER), here’s a link to her Next Big Thing post.

Have you read any books/authors you thought were going to be (or should be!) the Next Big Thing?
