You Know You’re A Paranormal Author When…

Finish the end of the sentence. Go on, I dare you.

I just have to say right now that I have never been a big vampire fan. I mean, the blood, the immortality, the whole biting thing…ick. I have a hard enough time donating blood. I can’t imagine voluntarily allowing two giant fangs to pierce my skin.

That said…my relatives on my mother’s side come from that famed region in (what used to be) Hungary known as Transylvania. Yes, you heard that right. Somewhere back in my lineage there’s probably a link to Dracula, the king of all vampires. Being … Read more »

BEST Week!

This is my favorite week of the year. Back-to-school week. One Gremlin started school today, the other two go back tomorrow. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I love my Gremlins dearly, but after an entire summer at home with me, they are more than ready to get back to school and I am more than ready for them to go. This summer especially has been a rough one since I was so sick and didn’t really start to feel human again until August. The poor Gremlins have had a loooong boring summer filled with too many of mom’s doctor appts … Read more »

Happy Father’s Day

Well, it’s Sunday and I’m just checking in for a few minutes to say thanks to everyone who sent me well-wishes, prayers and positive vibes when I was in the hospital. Two weeks was way too long for me to be gone and I’m so, SO happy to be home you have no idea.

Now of course, if those two weeks had been in Hawaii, that might be a different story…

Happy reading and writing to all. I’m so glad to be back!… Read more »

I’m Here! I’m Here!

OMG…this has just been the week from hell. One thing after another sucking up my time. I’ll only touch on the highlights so I don’t bore you to death…

Highlight #1: We got our Christmas Tree. Did I mention our tradition is to drive up to the hills, cut a tree ourselves at a tree farm and pack it home? And did I happen to mention that my hubby had back surgery like 3 wks ago? Um, yeah. It POURED Sunday when we drove out to the get the tree. We were all soaked, Gremlin #3 slipped four times in … Read more »

Catching Up

As most of you know, I’m not a big TV-watcher. I just don’t have time. I write primarily in the evenings after the Gremlins go to bed, during prime TV-watching hours. After finishing a project though, I always take some time off to catch up on shows I enjoy (like House). Now is no exception. Especially with the DH off work due to his back surgery recovery. We’ve watched a lot of House, the series end of The Shield, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (have you seen this? If not, you’re truly missing out. Hi-larious) and I’ve … Read more »

MIA

Hard to believe I haven’t blogged since the 6th! Things have been busy here. My hubby had back surgery last week. He came through fine, spend 3 days in the hospital and came home on Monday night. We’re in recovery mode now (me, too!) and taking it day by day. Though I have definitely decided I made the right choice NOT being a home health care professional. I love my hubby dearly but as he pointed out this morning, I have very little patience. (I think he called me Kathy Bates at one point which did NOT go over well. … Read more »

Done & Gone

My revisions are out the door and off to my agent. (Woohoo!!! Thanks to J for reading and critting for me so fast – J, you’re da bomb!) Feels good to get those done. Now I’m back to the grindstone on the wip – which I haven’t looked at in probably a month – ay ya ya. I’m halfway done and want to get through the first draft by the end of March.

Since the house is a pit and laundry’s been neglected for over a week, today is catch up day. But hopefully I’ll get some time to reread … Read more »

I’m All A-Twitter

Okay, I have no idea if that’s a real word or not, but I like it, so I’m going with it.

What has me all twitterish??? Something so simple it’s stupid.

During my weekly phone conversation with my mother, during which she once again managed to make me feel guilty about the fact she has yet to read my latest book, she informed me that my cousin is writing a book of her own. I was so excited when I heard this news, I immediately emailed my cousin in Virginia, whom I haven’t spoken with since last fall, and … Read more »
